Synopsis:

Dynamic system, control circuit, simple and combined controllers. Analysis

of a linear control circuit: stability, frequency domain methods, Nichols

chart, root locus. Synthesis: general problems, frequency domain methods,

pole placement methods: vertical strip pole placement, general pole

placement. Analysis and synthesis of a non-linear control circuit. Time

optimum control. Branched and multi-input, multi-output control circuits.

1. Dynamic system, control circuit

2. Controllers with determined structure

3. Analysis of a linear control system - frequency domain methods

4. Analysis of a linear control system - root locus

5. Synthesis of a control circuit - general problems

6. Frequency domain methods of synthesis, Ziegler - Nichols method

7. Vertical strip pole placement

8. General pole placement

9. Analysis of a simple non-linear circuit

10. Stability of a non-linear control circuit

11. Simple control circuit with discontinuous controllers

12. Approximate synthesis methods of the non-linear control circuits

13. Implementation of the non-linear control algorithms, bang-bang control

14. Branched and multi-input, multi-output control systems

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Mathematical models of the dynamic systems (repetition)

2. Experimental identification of systems by use of MATLAB

3. Other functions of the MATLAB toolboxes

4. Linear systems analysis (including its stability)

5. Root locus. Influence of the sampling period

6. Examples of synthesis based on system computer models, digital control

7.-10. Individual project of a control circuit by use of several analysis

and synthesis methods and a physical plant model. Computer model of the

control circuit. Realisation of the controllers by use of analogue and

digital computer and by the industrial Allen-Bradley control systém

11. Test, check of the results of the first individual laboratory project

12.-13. Individual project of the non-linear and discrete control systems,

corrections of the first individual laboratory project, amendment test

14. Delivery of the second individual laboratory project, credit award.

2. User's guides: SIMULINK, MATLAB (in limited amounts at your disposal in

the laboratory)
