Synopsis:

Electrical and electronic measuring instruments, digital instruments, methods of measurement of electrical quantities (voltage, current, power, frequency, resistance, capacitance and inductance), basic magnetic measurements, basics of measurement systems.

1. Introduction, accuracy of measurement, uncertainty estimation

2. Analogue meters. PMMC meter. Iron vane and electrodynamic meters

3. Measuring amplifiers with OA. Measurement of sum and difference. Converters of average value. Integrating amplifier

4. Measurement of frequency and phase shift

5. DC and AC current and voltage measurements - methods and instrumentation

6. DACs and ADCs

7. Measurement of resistance - methods, instruments, converters

8. Digital multimeters. RMS converters. Analogue multipliers. Instrument transformers

9. Measurement of power and energy (1- and 3-phase circuits)

10. Measurement of impedance and admittance (L-R, C-G) - methods and instruments

11. Measurement of B, H, and magnetising characteristics of ferromagnetic materials

12. Analogue and digitising oscilloscopes, sampling methods of measurement

13. Instruments controlled by microcontrollers. Spectrum analysers. Generators of measuring signals
