Computer aided manufacturing processes II.

Synopsis:

Processing mock-up for casting, let us say mock-up matrix, from object PPT1 to the form of NC programme for CNC controlled milling machine. Usage of CAM system. Optimalization of tool paths with reference to cycle time and achieved quality of finished machined surface.

Requirements:

Knowledge of methods of cutting technology.

1. Adjustment digital mock-up workpiece.

2. Transmission digital data mock-up CAD CAM.

3. Adjustment transmission involved mock-up.

4. Definition system of coordinates mock-up on milling machine.

5. Definition of stock material and bindings system of coordinates with workpiece, stock material and machine.

6. Make-up of partprogram for rough milling operation.

7. Make-up of partprogram for milling operation for finishing.

8. Verification CL data and judgment of quality of finished machined surface.

9. Optimalization of tool paths for finishing on specified surface qualities.

10. Generation of NC programme. Verification of NC programme and its adjustment.

11. Cutting on CNC milling cutter.

12. Cutting on CNC milling cutter.

13. Appreciation of presumed and real cutted finished machined surface.

Study Objective:

Acquaint student with principles of use of computer technique in cutting.
