Image processing techniques.

Image formation and acquisition,

preprocessing, compression, edge and object detection. Applications in computer vision and medical image processing.

1. Introduction. Geometric transformations. 3D imaging. Pin-hole camera.

2. Filtration, linear integral transforms and their applications. Wavelets.

3. Segmentation.

4. Texture. Texture segmentation. Compression.

5. Image formation, radiometry, color.

6. Detecting geometric features. RANSAC, Hough transform.

7. Detecting point and scale invariant features. The correspondence problem.

8. Active contours.Levelsets.

9. Global registration. Similarity criteria. Optimization.

10. PCA, point distribution models.

11. Graph-based methods. GRAPHCUT segmentation.

12. Introduction to medical imaging techniques.

13. Practical application (external expert presentation).
