Synopsis:

Technologies of high-speed multi-function networks (ISDN, ATM, xDSL, HFC) and management systems. Presentation of existing solutions, presentation and practices of a management system.

1. Computer network management. OSI CMIS/CMIT architecture

2. SNMP and SNMPv2 systems

3. MIB-2 objects, ASN.1 protocol

4. RMON technology, statistics

5. PDH and SDH/SONET systems

6. ISDN and B-ISDN systems, services, interfaces

7. Asynchronous Transfer Mode, ATM architecture

8. QoS parameters, CBR, VBR, UBR and ABR traffic, service classes

9. ATM switching - UNI and NNI interfaces, P-NNI signaling

10. LAN emulation

11. IP over ATM, NHRP, MPOA, MPLS

12. Flow control - RM cells and credits

13. Access networks. HFC technology, channel access, flow control

14. HDSL, ADSL and VDSL technologies
