Basics of transport phenomena for the study programme Intelligent Buildings

Transport equations applied in incompressible fluid flow, laminar and turbulent flow, boundary layer, turbulence characteristics, Reynolds equations, heat conduction, convection and radiation, moisture transfer, basics of building physics, heat exchangers
- Syllabus of tutorials:

Static pressure in a building, air flow through a large opening, flow in branched pipes or ducts, air distribution, pressure losses, mean velocities, heat conduction and overal heat transfer through multilayer construction, natural and forced convection, heat radiation, moisture transfer, heat exchangers.

Basic overview and applications of heat-, mass- and momentum-transfer principles in heating, ventilation and air-conditioning.
