Synopsis:

The course is focused to the fundamental knowledge necessary on the level of the technical universities. It explains the basic physical and chemical properties of substances, basic chemical reactions, descibes the properties of mass, reaching the equilibrium by chemical reactions and physical processes. It is focused especially for the practical aplications and calculations, and as well complicated problems using computer .

1. Chemical nomenclature of inorganic compounds and the types of compounds

2. Chemical nomenclature of organic compounds, the types of organic compounds

3. Connections between properties of elements and position in the periodic system

4. Basic types of chemical reactions

5. Basic chemical and physical properties of substances, practical applications

6. Classification of substances as acids and basis. The basic properties

7. Reactions in solutions

8. Applications of thermochemical laws by the chemical and physical processes

9. Equilibrium by chemical and physical processes

10. Mixtures and pure compounds

11. Electrical nature of matter

12. Types of materials and their basic characterization

13. Modern methods for the determination of the structure of substances Radioactivity and nuclear energy

1. Exercises in anorganic nomenclarture

2. Exercises in organic nomenclarture

3. Used quantities, their definitions, units and applications

4. Balancing of chemical equations, ox-red equations

5. Calculations by using the Kirchhoff´s and Hess´s laws

6. Determination of equilibrium by chemical and physical properties

7. pH and pK calculations in solutions, the practical use

8. Determination of the changes of states of mass by the physical processes

9. Calculations of amounts and compositions of phases by the phase transformations

10. Calculations of electrochemical potentials by the electrochemical reactions

11. Calculations of equilibrium constants by chemical reactions

12. Determination of crystallografic systems

13. Minimalization of Gibb´senergy by the equilibrium applications

14. Solution of calculations by determination of compositionof mixtures using computer
