Synopsis:

Theory of information, basic notion for specification of channel capacity, minimize data transmission, security of transmission, redundancy. Carrier signal, basic notion for transmission of modulated and non-modulated signals in analog and digital form. Transmission paths review, optical transmission path, types of cores, their characteristics. Networks with random and deterministic access to transmission medium. The lectures and the exercises are oriented on applications in distributed systems form measurement and control technique.

7. Systems for data transmission, basic arrangement, types of transmission

8. Transmission networks, basic arrangement, structures, topology

9. Layered ISO architecture, protocols and their structures

10. Connection of different types of nets, Internet, TCP/IP protocols

11. Buses, serial and parallel interfaces, RS 232, RS 422

12. RS 423, RS 485, IEEE 488, VME, VXI, current loop

13. Fieldbuses

14. EMC of distributed systems
