Synopsis:

Position determination and aircraft navigation. An emphasis is laid on modern air radio navigation, especially on satellite one. Explanation respects European Radio Navigation Plan (ERNP) recommendations and ICAO rules. A student will study system principles and their application for flight control.

3. Autonomous navigation systems, dependent navigation systems

4. Direction finding, ADF

5. System VOR, principle, indication and navigation calculations

6. System DME, RNAV

7. System ILS, beacons and airborne receivers

8. System MLS, principle, future of the system

9. Hyperbolic systems: LORAN C, Omega

10. Satellite systems: GPS and GLONASS, GNSS - principles

11. Doppler radar system

12. Airborne radar

13. Independent navigation systems

14. Computations in navigation
