Department of Microelectronics
Synopsis:

The RPC course is meant for studnets of all specialisations who use PC's in other ways than merely through the keayboard. It reviews the features and history of individual interface types from the start of 16-bit processor use till the contemporarie. In addition to the electrical properties, mechanical features and ways of connection of external circuits to the individual interface types are discussed as well.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1. Accessing the PC interfaces by the BASIC and PASCAL, inp. and outp. control

2. Interfacing circuits, converters between various interface types

3. Inputting analogue and digital signals to series and parallel interfaces

4. Controlling analogue and digital consumers from the interface outputs

5. Standard interfaces in a PC, data transfer and communication protocols

6. The RS232, RS422A, RS485 sequential interfaces

7. The CENTRONICS, IEEE488 parallel interfaces
