Synopsis:

This subject is oriented to improve student's practical skills in design, implementation and measurement of analog or analog-to-digital electronic circuits. Practical construction rules, an influence of implementation technique (mode) to the resulting parameters and solution of problems connected with debugging and measurement of the unit designed are emphasized.

1. Small-signal amplifiers for communication systems

2. Operational amplifiers - a survey, properties, parameter measurement

3. Current-Feedback amplifiers

4. Special amplifiers for communications

5. Typical circuits based on Op-Amps, design rules

6. Periodic signal generation - a survey. High-stable frequency oscillators

7. VCO, voltage-to-frequency converters, function generators

8. PLL - a principle, parameters, measurement

9. PLL frequency synthesis

10. PLL application in communication systems

11. Pulse power-supply sources

12. Analog filters - a survey, application rules. Integrated filters

13. Crystal filters, piezoceramic filters, SAW filters

14. Special circuits and devices for communications

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Amplifier measurement and application. Setting of individual works

2. 1st design problem: design of Op-Amp circuits and Transimpedance amplifier circuits

3. 1st design problem: continuation

4. 2nd design problem: Videoamplifier

5. 3rd design problem: LC oscillator design

6. 4th design problem: design of crystal oscillator

7. 5th design problem: design of function generator using special ICs

8. PLL system design (clock synchonization, frequency synthesis)

9. 6th design problem: PLL based data transmission

10. 6th design problem: continuation

11. 7th design problem: pulse power supply design and measurement

12. 8th design problem: SC filter design using special ICs

13. Crystal and piezoceramic filters: parameters, measurement

14. Presentation of individual works
