Synopsis:

Electrostatic separators, analysis of rectifier multiple commutation, analysis of rectifier operation with interrupted current, DC magnetization, thyristor switches, thyristor power supply stations, AC-AC converter with cyclic control, operational diagram of three-phase AC-AC converter. High voltage converters, excited systems for synchronous machines, semiconductor protection, GTO and IGBT devices, their characteristics and application

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1. Survey of power electronic applications, electrostatic separators

2. Multiple commutation, analysis of rectifier with interrupted current

3. Supplement to dimension design of converters, DC magnetization

4. Welding rectifiers, charging rectifiers, super conducting magnetic reservoirs

5. Medium frequency inverters, induction heating and mixing

6. Thyristor switches, thyristor power supply stations

7. Controlled large current sources, controlled compensation of reactive power

8. Operational diagram of three-phase AC-AC controller

9. Resistor pulse control, cathode protection, HVDC transmissions

10. Rectifiers in excitation circuits of synchronous machines

11. Power transitor in switching operation

12. Symmetrization of load in three-phase net, multilevel converters

13. Active filters, protection of diode and thyristor rectifiers

14. GTO thyristor and its application, IGBT and its application

1. Introduction to laboratory

1. Static separator (excursion to ČKD ENERGO)

3. Measurement of Xk influence on commutation time, multiple commutation

4. Control of thyristor rectifier with variable resistor load

5. Measurement on resonance bridge series inverter

6. Measurement on resonance bridge parallel inverter

7. Measurement on compensation circuit with DC rectifier

8. Measurement on compensation circuit with AC-AC controller

9. Control test

10. Control of load current using AC-AC controller in transformer primary winding

11. Control of R load current using AC-AC controller in transformer secondary winding

12. Control of L load current using AC-AC controller in transformer secondary winding

13. Symmetrization of load in three phase network
