Lecturer:
Tutor:
Supervisor:
Department of Electric Drives and Traction
Synopsis:

The course is based on knowledge about the control of electric drives. For a design of modern electric drive controller it is necessary to manage the system per unit system, normalized quantities and basic control architectures. Students work with controllers based on modern microprocessors and digital signal processors. It is possible to get raquainted with top end products in drive technique area.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1. Modern controlled drive structure, per unit system, normalized quantities

2. Support means for microprocessor controller development

3. Program realisation of the basic algorithm microprocessor controllers

4. Modulation program solution of a converter for induction machine supply (IM)

5. System equations of an IM as basis of modern control methods

6. Scalar control of an IM drive

7. Structure of an IM drive with vector control

8. Controller for an IM direct torque control method for a GTO converter

9. AM direct torque control method for a transistor converter

10. Microprocessor controller of an excitation system for a synchronous machine

11. Control of a compatible rectifier with sinusoidal current taken from a supply network

12. Circumferential solution of microprocessor controllers, digital signal processors

13. Drive testing, protections

14. Development trends in electric drives (fuzzy logic)

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Safety rules for the laboratory, control of test drives

2. Working with support program means
