Synopsis:

Analysis of switching component principles and solid state (SS) switching circuits. Semiconductor switching elements and the ir control. Single and three-phase solid state switches, different configuration of switching elements. Voltage and current stress analysis of switching components. Solid state switch for DC circuits. Solid state switch over-current and over-voltage protection circuits.

1. Solid state switch (SSS) and its place in electric system

2. Electronic components of SSS and their characteristics

3. Control circuits of electronic switching elements and their properties

4. Single-phase solid state switch with feedback, zero switch

5. AC solid state switch with self commutation circuit

6. Three-phase SSS, voltage and current stress of switching components

7. Protection circuits of SSS

8. AC SSS with initial and end phase control of output voltage (soft-starters)

9. AC SSS with cyclic control

10. Circuits for phase control and cyclic control switches

11. DC solid state switches

12. Operational characteristics of DC SSS

13. SSS using field effect transistors

14. Power switching modules, rules for application

1. Safety of laboratory works, laboratory rules, activation of first measurements

2. Static parameter measurements of SSS with current capacitive feedback

3. Dynamic parameter measurements of SSS with current capacitive feedback

4. Static parameter measurements of SSS with current inductive feedback

5. Dynamic parameter measurements of SSS with current inductive feedback

6. Static parameter measurements of SSS with current and voltage feedback

7. Dynamic parameter measurements of SSS with current and voltage feedback

8. Static parameter measurements of „zero switch“

9. Dynamic parameter measurements of „zero switch“, observation of effects near zero

10. Phase controlled switch measurement, design and construction of control circuit

11. Phase controlled switch, activation and measurement

12. AC solid state switch with self commutation circuit measurement

13. Switching off process analysis

14. Correction measurements and assessment
