Synopsis:

Significance and typical examples of the use of a microcomputer in technical praxis. System of files, auxiliary programs for pretentious use of a computer. Application accessories for processing of graphs, for mathematical calculations, for measurement, program of a type „spreadsheet“, the use of text editors, DTP and the programs AutoCAD and OrCAD.

Requirements:

To get credits student has to attend a seminars, fulfil all semester themes and pass final course test. Additional information exists on web page of the course.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Significance of the use of computer in technical praxis

2. Memory of the personal computer compatible with IBM PC

3. System of files of a computer compatible with IBM PC

4. Auxiliary programs for pretentious use of a computer compatible with IBM PC

5. Program accessories for processing of graphs

6. Program accessories for mathematical calculations

7. Program accessories for electrical measurements

8. Program accessories of the type „spreadsheet“, the use in electrical engineering

9. Application of databases for saving of results of a calculation

10. Application of text editors for documentation of results of calculations

11. Application of DTP systems for presentation of results of calculations

12. Application of programs „AutoCAD“ and „OrCAD“ for electrical engineering

13. The use of a graphic environment (MS Windows)

14. History of personal computers and their use in electrical engineering
