Synopsis:

Knowledge Economy is concerned with problems of education and human capital related to economics.

Requirements:

Graduation in basic curse of Microeconomics

Syllabus of lectures:

1.Characteristic features of knowledge economics.

2.Public economy and public sector. Parts of economy.

3.Profit and unprofit sectors in educational systems.

4.Education and its international classification (ISCED).

5.Human Resources, human capital and and education.

6.Efficiency of education and of educational systems.

7.Evaluation of educational quality and accreditation.

8.Indicators of education according to OECD.

9.Relation between educational quality and managing and financing methods of universities.

10.Screening theory and philtre theory.

11.Importance of education quantity and quality for human capital cultivation.

12.Education as a part of international integration of economies (EU).

13.Impacts of education on economy competitiveness.

Study Objective:

By studying of this subject, students get the knowledge from field of human resources (about human capital, efficiency of education and quality indicators of education and others). By completing this subject, students gain ability to apply their knowledge in economic practise in firms and public sector.
