The course covers the first part of flight mechanics dealing with the airplane performance. Airplane data necessary for performance analysis (mass, aerodynamic characteristics, power plant - thrust and power). Horizontal steady flight. Optimum and economic regimes. Descent, glide. Climb, ceiling. Range and endurance. Turn. Accelerated flights, dive. Take-off and landing. Energy methods to analyze aircraft performance at high speeds.
