- Synopsis:

Performing of the first aid at the site of injury at the level of educated
laymen. Basic principals of diagnose and treatment of emergency situations
resulting in acute threat to life of victims are presented. Practical education
in life- and health-saving methods is practiced using improvised of commonly
accessible aids and tools.

Compulsory attendance in practical lessons. Realisation of all practical tasks and successful practical examination in resuscitation of an adult (performed on mannequin)
examination:
Credit. The examination will be done in form of two written single choice tests with just one correct answer; the first test is aimed to basic life support, the second one to correct solving of common life threatening situations.

1st Basic emergency resuscitation - basic life functions and their disorders Calling support, communication with the control room, the arrival process professional help.
2nd Basic emergency resuscitation - CPR breathing
3rd Basic emergency resuscitation - CPR circulation
4th Basic emergency resuscitation - automated external defibrillation Resuscitation of children
5th Types of bleeding (arterial, venous, external, internal), bleeding
6th Types of shock shock, symptomatic treatment
7th I nontraumatic emergency conditions
8th Nontraumatic emergency conditions II
9th Injuries to the brain and skull, spine and spinal cord injuries
10th Injuries to the thorax and abdomen, extremity injuries
11th Thermal trauma, injury, electric shock
12th Chemical trauma,
13th CBRN

- Study Objective:

After successful completion of this course the student should be able to diagnose the failure of vital functions, recognize the state of imminent danger to life, make basic emergency resuscitation and provide emergency first aid.
