Anotace:

Students will learn how to perform and prepare a presentation and how to present. Students will make interactive presentations in from of an auditorium of their colleagues and the teacher. They will also learn how to make more complex technical reports.

Osnova přednášek:

1. Communication in general, breathing technique, articulation, normative pronunciation.

2. Verbal and sentential sound instruments, intonation, phrasing, accent. Written and spoken stylistic.

3. Essentials of nonverbal communication - proxemics, gesture, mimics, movement, apperance.

4. Monologue. Thematic project setup, kinds of projects, target audience, diction style.

5. Immediate speech, speech in a difficult environment, psychologic techniques, feedback.

6. Visual tools - logic structure and appearance.

7. Working with tools, movement, pointing.

8. Dialogue. Types of dialogues, active and passive communication roles.

9. Argumentation, induction, deduction, communication techniques.

10. Logical composition of a document, information design. Composition of chapters, paragraphs, and sentences.

11. Styles and genres of written presentations, itemized forms.

12. Oral presentation. Styles of oral presentations: monologues, moderated and unmoderated dialogues.

13. Analysis and correction of found problems.

Cíle studia:

The purpose of the module is to learn and perfect skills required for a successful professional communication of future bachelors and engineers. The study should help them to perfect the culture of their verbal presentation, both spoken and written, and also nonverbal, and remove possible mental blocks during public presentations so that they are able to build a positive personal image. The module is a synthesis of rhetoric, stylistic, psychology, and semantics. The focus is put on the preparation and presentation of students' own work.
