Synopsis:

The course offers information on the possibilities of using modern technologies in the field of ergonomics and motion analysis for practice. Attention is paid to the technical aspects of designing the construction of equipment and devices that reduce health hazards, improve safety and adapt working conditions to the performance capabilities of the individual. The course focuses primarily on the use of modern technology.

Requirements:

Form of verification of study results: oral examination.

As a standard, the course is taught in contact form and the course has lectures and exercises. In case the number of students is less than 5, the teaching can take place in the form of guided self-study with regular consultations. In this case, in addition to the examination, the student is required to produce a written study on the assigned topic.

For combined study:

Teaching takes the form of guided self-study with regular consultations. In addition to the examination, the student is required to prepare a written study on a given topic.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Introduction to ergonomics, ergonomics and risk, occupational diseases, relationships between man, work object and work environment.

2. Anthropometry, body structure, body and limb dimensions, kinematic chain, joint types, range of motion.

3. Models and simulations in ergonomics, distribution of computer programs for ergonomics, commercial ergonomics programs and their applications.

4. Types of movements, movement stereotypes, description of movements, kinematics of movement, methods of movement assessment, determination of movement parameters, working position, extreme body position, age and gender dependence of movements.

5. Motion measurement systems, MoCap systems and their distribution, motion space, physical methods of motion recording, commercial motion measurement systems.

6. Movement assessment and analysis software, musculoskeletal models, rheological models in ergonomics.

7. Design of work environment using segmented body models, design of position of controls, design of seating, terminal workstation, workplace organization,

8. Dynamics of movement, determination of force and moment effects, loading of body segments, force development, extreme body position, dynamic and static loading.

9. Force and moment effect measurement systems in ergonomics, dynamometers, dynamometer distribution and design, data preprocessing and processing, data evaluation.

10. Physical fitness, age and gender dependencies, optimization of aids with respect to age and gender, special aids.

11. Energy and performance, energy transformation, work, energy expenditure, efficiency of human body, efficiency of work tasks, indicators of human work, productivity, standardization.

12. Physical factors, lighting, noise, climatic conditions, measurement systems, assessment methods, standards.

13. Mental and physical stress, fatigue, prevention, technical aesthetics, criteria, ergativity evaluation.

14. Presentation of the final independent work in the field.

Syllabus of tutorials:

Exercises will be in the form of practical projects in which students will verify the knowledge acquired in lectures.
