Synopsis:

Failures and reconstruction of basements, vertical and roof structures. Analysis of origin, improper design, application, further aspects. Emphasis on waterproofing and building physics. Defect prevention, renovation methods, incl. advanced methods with usage of up to date technologies and materials.

Syllabus of lectures:

Basements

- Reconstruction of wateproofing solution under undemanding circumstances (family houses, halls, exposure mainly to moisture)

- Advanced reconstruction of waterproofing solution (basements under groundwater level, gab sites, civil engineering structures)

- Concrete repair, injection technology, strengthening

Roofs

- Reconstruction of flat roofs from waterproofing and building physics point of view

- Reconstruction of utilized flat roofs (green, walked on, driven on)

- Reconstruction of balconies, enclosed balconies, terraces

- Reconstruction of pitched roof, roof frames

Facades

- Reconstruction of ETICS and ventilated facades

- Windows, glass facades, reconstruction

Additional topics

- Wooden structures, timbered houses, timber-framed houses, asbestos in building materials, interior waterproofing, listed buildings
