Horse-drawn railways, steam railways, railway network development in the 2nd half of 19th century, regional railways epoch, railways of the „First Republic“, electric traction, World War II railways, railway development in the 2nd half of 20th century, high-speed railway origins, railway lines closing, important long-distance train connections, railway lines construction, railway accidents, railway junctions. The goal of the course is the introduction to railway network development in the Czech Republic. Historical context is necessary for understanding contemporary railways - their advantages and disadvantages.
