Synopsis:

The course gives a detailed overview of chemical properties of all known radioactive elements from the group of cis-uranium elements, actinoids and trans-actinoids.

Requirements:

Basic course of nuclear chemistry.

Syllabus of lectures:

1.Definitions, classification. Technetium.

2.Promethium, Astatine, Francium.

3.Polonium, Radon.

4.Radium, actinide theory.

5.Actinium, Thorium.

6.Protactinium.

7.Uranium.

8.Neptunium, Plutonium, Americium.

9.Curium, Berkelium, Californium. Preparation of transuranium elements,

10.Einsteinium, Fermium, Mendelevium, Nobelium, Lawrencium.

11.Atom-at-a-Time-Chemistry. Position of trans-actinoid elements in the Periodic system.

12.Rutherfordium, Dubnium, Seaborgium, Bohrium, Hassium, Meitnerium.

Syllabus of tutorials:
Study Objective:

This course provides the students with the knowledge of nuclear properties, and inorganic analytical chemistry of all known radioactive elements.

The students will acquire competence to get oriented in the field of the properties, behaviour, and analytical procedures of all known radioactive elements.
