Synopsis:

•Main design characteristics of reactors.

•Nuclear steam supply system with pressurized water reactor and their main advantages and disadvantages.

•Main components and systems; steam generators, main circulation pumps and valves.

•Auxiliary systems for nuclear steam supply system, CVCS systems, ventilation systems, transport handling systems, radioactive waste capture and management systems.

•Perspective types of power reactors and steam generators.

•Advanced nuclear power plants with lower investment costs and improved safety security.

•Third and fourth generation nuclear reactors.

•Fuel cycle of nuclear power, plutonium production and its use in fast reactors.

•Transmutation systems.

•Protective and safety systems of nuclear steam supply system, emergency cooling system for steam generators,

hermetic spaces with accessories, inherent, passive and active safety.

•Residual heat removal systems - active and passive, RVACS.

•Refueling, storage and transport of fuel.

•The overall layout of nuclear power plants - the choice of building site, the main functional units, the overall layout concept, the general plan, aspects for the location of individual objects, mutual links of objects, general principles of architectural design.
