Synopsis:

The course consists of 14 separate lectures. In each of them, a different teacher—researcher at FBMI—introduces students to their specialization. Students will obtain (i) an overview of the breadth of topics in biomedical engineering, (ii) information about the latest results in the field, (iii) an idea of research problems investigated at FBMI. The topics of the lectures follow the basic division of biomedical engineering into seven main areas. The division into seven areas is also reflected in the concept of the State Doctoral Examination in the Biomedical Engineering program. Simultaneously, the course contains the latest information; therefore, the specific topics of the lectures update every year. Furthermore, the course contains 4 lectures in the field of general research methodology, aimed at supporting research and publishing activities of doctoral students.

Ethical requirements for experiment. Registries of clinical trials. Grant applications (prof. Ing. Karel Roubík, Ph.D.)

Mechanism of cell interaction with artificial materials developed for tissue replacements (doc. MUDr. Lucie Bačáková, CSc.)

New technologies and computational procedures in neuroscience (doc. Ing, Lenka Lhotská, CSc.)

HTA – Health Technology Assessment (doc. Vladimír Rogalewicz, CSc.)

Possibilities of using mapping and modeling of the electric field of the heart in cardiological diagnostics (doc.Ing. Milan Tyšler, CSc.)
