The course is designed to instruct how to correctly use and to revise English grammar structures acquired by student at secondary school, develop them, view them as a system of communication and strengthen them. The required level for registration is B1 of CEFR. The course stresses mainly frequency of structures and those difficult to master by Czech students.
- Requirements:

Students must receive at least 60% on the final test in order to pass (unless they are sanctioned for missing homework). Students are only allowed to re-take the test one time and the minimum re-take score is 70%.
Attendance is required. Only 3 absences are allowed per semester without a legitimate excuse (serious illness, for example). If a student is absent for more than 3 lessons, they will not be allowed to do the zápočet. Please come to class on time. Coming more than 20 minutes late will be counted as an absence.
Students who do not complete the homework will receive a 3% deduction from their final grade for each missed assignment. Students who miss 5 or more assignments will not be able to take the credit test.

Revision and extension of grammar structures, especially: verb patterns, tenses, modals, passive voice, infinitives, sentences and clauses, sequence of tenses.

The course is run as a series of seminars following the topics and scope of the syllabus mentioned above.

Knowledge:
To revise, extend and develop existing grammar competence of student, namely: specific features of English verbs compared with Czech, tenses, modal verbs, passive voice, infinitive, conditionals, time clauses, sequence of tenses.
Skills:
To use correct and appropriate grammar structures in expressing ideas in all APIN courses both in speaking and writing.
