Synopsis:

The subject is the preparation of graduates to solve the legislative aspects of the decommissioning process. Familiates with valid legislation on radiation protection, training requirements and the professional competence of workers in waste management and decommissioning of workplaces III. and IV. categories. It works with the essential parts of the laws and the implementing legislation concerning the preparation, implementation of site decommissioning, including legislative requirements for the protection of employees and the environment against radiation and waste management in their categorization, transport and storage.

Syllabus of lectures:

1.Requirements for perfect documentation and records. Use and centralization of control and monitoring systems. Using centralized management and planning tools.

2.Optimization - dismantling. Selection of fragmentation and decontamination techniques, their combination (catalogue Řež). Rules and targets to minimize exposure - limits and optimization, collective dose.

3.Optimizing procedures to reduce exposure, the role of decontamination of people.

4.Calculations or model calculations of exposure based on measured data (VISIPLAN - available at DDAIR, MCNP - part of the course), RESRAD - freely accessible.

5.Final measurement and exclusion of workplace / locality from Atomic Legislation.

6.Remediation and reclamation - methods, verification of results of sanction processes, reclamation, liquidation; legislative framework. Methods of remediation. Scenarios for use of sanitized territory.

7.Modern trends in decommissioning - methods, approaches, technologies.

8.Project preparation as an individual work - project assignment, explanation, balance sheet, discussion, possible limitations and conflicts of interest.

9.Independent work: preparation of documentation in accordance with the requirements of legislation on the topic.

10.Project presentation, critical evaluation.

11.Excursion - hot chamber.

Syllabus of tutorials:

The content of the seminar will be the current issue in relation to the studied substance - solution of examples from practice in the preparation of documentation, examples of solution of particular situations during decommissioning in the Czech Republic and abroad, procedure for elaboration of documentation. Exercise will be held in cooperation with experts from Czech companies performing decommissioning.
