Synopsis:

The mission of the course is to combine knowledge of individual subjects representing individual aspects of corporate management in one logical unit. The main task of the student teams is to build a project of a comprehensive business management system of a model industrial or engineering company, which will ensure integration links between individual management levels (strategic, tactical, operational) and between different functional areas - strategic management, marketing, production management, financial management, cost and investment cotrolling. In addition to focusing on understanding these integration ties in addressing a very specific project, the course focuses on building key management skills: project management and project team leadership, planning, distribution and control of team tasks, presentation and defense of the chosen solution in discussion. Students solve key project passages using large and interconnected models in MS Excel, which serve as a source of information for making managerial decisions and recommendations. The project is solved in progressive milestones, where individual thematic tasks are grouped:

The project is solved in progressive milestones, where individual thematic tasks are grouped:

1."Milestone 1 (weeks 1 to 3):

- Description of products, business processes, initial organizational structure, SWOT matrix

- Analysis of marketing macro and micro environment of the company (PESTLE, Porter's five forces analysis), analysis of customers, competitors, suppliers, setting of marketing mix tools"

2."Milestone 2 (weeks 4-6):

- Establishment of the operating budget of each center and the aggregated company-wide budget

- Proposal of calculation formula for defined products, compilation of cost-revenues balance in the form of contribution margin calculation"

3."Milestone 3 (weeks 7 - 9):

- Creation of annual business plan in monthly breakdown, simulation of different scenarios of development in Excel model"

4."Milestone 4 (10th - 12th week):

- Updated SWOT analysis, identification of possible development strategies

- Characteristics of investment development projects

- Technical and economic evaluation of projects, risk analysis"

5."Final Defense and Evaluation of Projects (13th week)

- Summary presentation of projects, identification of key integration links in projects

- Overall project evaluation"
