Synopsis:

The course is intended only for students of the field of study/program Physiotherapy.

Lectures in Physiotherapy - diagnostic and therapeutic approaches should lead to gain of knowledge in different physiotherapy concepts, widely used by physios worldwide. Those are based in deep knowledge of musculoskeletal system kinesiology, kinesiotherapy and principles of interactions between the central nervous system, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and effectors including muscles and neuromuscular junction. Leading schools in physiotherapy (PNF, Vojta method, Sensomotor stimulation or DNS) would be presented theoretically and practically. Students would be informed about variety of techniques including joint mobilisations/manipulation techniques, trigger point and fascia therapies. Theoretical informations would be strengthened by practical hands-on courses.

Requirements:

Student needs 100% presence in practical sessions and workshops.

Subject will be successfully completed if:

1.Student passes theoretical test, 2 attempts, at least 60 % correct answers (for classification as “E”)

2.Student passes following practical examination and oral exam

Syllabus of lectures:

1.Theory of muscular dysbalances

2.Changes in muscle length - isotonic and isometric muscle load

3.Muscle coordination and used physiotherapy procedures

4.Examination of peripheral joints, joint blockage theory

5.Examination of spine and pelvis

6.Neurological examination

7.Ideomotor functions and its examination. Stereognostic function.

8.Sensomotor stimulation by prof. Janda - concept description and its use

9.Balance impairment and vestibular rehabilitation

10. Cerebellar ataxia, gait and extra pyramid system disorders

11. Postural function of diaphragm and deep stabilising system of spine

12. Developmental kinesiology, Vojta method, DNS and their use in children

13. Developmental kinesiology, Vojta method, DNS and their use in adults

14. Varia, preparations for final exam

Syllabus of tutorials:
