Synopsis:

The subjects explains the details of the automotive chassis design (inertial behaviors of the sprung masses, axle position, load spectra, brake system, wheel suspension, wheel group, damping system, steering mechanism)

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1 – Vehicle chassis - introduction

2 – Inertial behaviors of the sprung masses, axle position, load spektra. Ex: Proposal of the tire dimensions.

3 – Brake system 1 (basic and aditional funcitons)

4 – Brake system 2 (design elements). Ex. Brake design, calculation of warming.

5 – Wheel suspension 1. (Axle – function, requirements, classification, kinematic requirements)

6 – Wheel suspension 2. (Design elements, elastokinematics, Examples). Ex. Calculation of main wheel suspension element

7 – Wheel group 1 (Steerable axle, driving axle, basic parameters)

8 – Wheel group 2 (Ways of wheel seat). Ex. Calculation of the wheel seat)

9 – Damping system 1 (requirement, design variants)

10 – Damping system 2. (Design elements). Ex. Proposal of the main element of the damping system

11 – Damping system 3. (Space requirements of the wheel)

12 – Damping system 4. (Load condtions, life cycle, endurance of damping system). Ex. Calculation of chosen element

13 – Steering mechanism. (Requirements, design elements)
