Synopsis:

The lecture is intended especially for doctorand students and aims at familiarizing the students with advanced passages of quantum field theory. Emphasis will mainly be placed on quantization using Feynman's functional integral which plays a central role in modern applications.

2. Non-perturbative methods in quantum field theory

Solitons and their use in condensed phase theory [2h]

Instantons as a means of understanding tunneling phenomena [4h]

3. Topological defects in condensed matter physics

Exact sequence and defect classification using homotopical classes [2h]

Applications in condensed matter physics, particle physics and cosmology [4h]

4. Quantum field theory at final temperatures and densities

Matsubar's diagrammatic approach [2h]

Keldysh-Schwinger's diagrammatic approach [4h]

5. Non-equilibrium quantum field theoretic systems [4h]
