Supervisor:
Department of Designing and Machine Components
Synopsis:

The course is focused on building up the ability of future designers to express their ideas through common communication language - technical drawing. During the course students train and improve their skills in spatial imagination and engineering way of thinking.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1) Subject introduction. Lectures and practises content. Standardisation of the technical documentation, lettering of drawings. Utilities for the practises and recommended literature. Internet information.

2) Technical drawings (types, scales, formats, type of lines, folding of drawings). Principles of the representation in technical drawings. Orthographic projection. Rules of representation - number and choice of views.

3) Using and drawing of sectional views and sections. Interruption of views. Representation of symmetrical parts. Special views, simplification of representation.

4) Principles of the dimensioning in technical drawings. Arrangement and systems of dimensioning. Dimensioning of the basic geometrical bodies.

5) Representation and dimensioning of the standard elements (recesses, centre holes, knurlings, threads, thread fasteners, their indication).

6) Accuracy of dimensions and its indication in the technical drawings. Indication of the surface texture (surface roughness) in the technical drawings.

7) Edge state introduction, accuracy, roughness. Representation and dimensioning of the compression spring
