Methods for thermal energy transformation at a higher temperature level. Heat pumps based

on subcritical and supercritical vapour cycle. Refrigerants for heat pumps. Heat pump drives.

Low potential heat sources. Heat accumulation. Correlation between the heat source and the

heat consumption. Hot water preparation by heat pump. Use of waste heat of refrigereLting

units and gas compressors. Design of heat pump systems. Economic, efhcient and

environmental aspects of heat pumps operation. Safety and environment protection incl. the

European legislation.
