Synopsis:

The course is divided into two parts: quality control of project documentation in terms of compliance with the implementing of nacional regulations and forensic expert activities. The scope of the subject is the control activity during construction with a focus on the quality of project documentation, monitoring of crucial parameters of construction and progress of works, management of changes during implementation. Construction quality assurance tools. Technical standards and regulations. Construction quality control. Material and product quality assurance. Listing of the most common errors at the level of project documentation and during the implementation of the construction delivery. The course also deals with the issue of poor quality in the investment process. Basic principle and legislation in the field of expert activities. Analysis of individual building structures in terms of assessing failures and their solution in the expert's report and expert organization. Methodology of preparation of expert opinion and determination of the expert.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1 Introduction to the quality of construction works from the perspective of the quality of project documentation.

2 Technical risks of project documentation. Practical examples.

3 Dealing with defects and claims in the construction process from the perspective of the expert witness.

4 Legislative requirements for the quality of project documentation, construction products and construction participants. Principles of checking the completeness and correctness of project documentation.

5 Basic requirements for spatial geometry of buildings. Examples of checking the possibility of observing the limit dimensions even after taking into account the considered deviations in the geometric accuracy of construction.

6 Basic requirements for the protection of buildings against radon. Principles for the implementation of anti-radon protection.

7 Basic requirements for waterproofing of the substructure.

8 Basic requirements for roof waterproofing. Examples of roof layers design and detailing.

9 Fundamentals and principles in building design from a building physics perspective. Examples of space layout design and detailing solutions in terms of thermal engineering, acoustics, etc.

10 Technical risks of the design documentation from the perspective of PBD - requirements for load bearing and fire separating structures and internal finishes.

11 Technical risks of the design documentation from a DRM perspective - requirements for means of escape, opening fillings and external finishes.

12 Basic requirements for glass elements used in construction.

13 Basic requirements for finishes of building structures (floors, exposed concrete, SDK structures, tiles, etc.).

Syllabus of tutorials:

Practical examples of quality control of project documentation, preparation of project documentation control protocols in the field of:

1. Completeness of project documentation

2. Geometric parameters of structures (dimensions of structures with regard to technical requirements, accessibility, etc.)

3. checking the PD with regard to the proposed measures for the protection of the building against radon

4. checking the PD with regard to the requirements for waterproofing of the substructure and roofs

5. Inspection of the PD with regard to the PBŘ

6. Inspection of the PD from the point of view of building physics (thermal and acoustic parameters of the building envelope and internal subdivision structures, assessment of the internal layout from the acoustic point of view, etc.)
