Synopsis:

The subject is aimed at a detailed introduction to the construction and maintenance of railway lines. Students are introduced to working procedures and mechanization tools that are used for the construction of the railway bottom and top and for the establishment and maintenance of the geometrical position of the track.

Requirements:

Exam from the subject Z01 and Z02D or Z02K

Syllabus of lectures:

- Basic legislation and state administration in the field of construction and maintenance of railway infrastructure (Czech railway-oriented institutions)

- Track maintenance, goals, what and how often to repair

- Repair work (S3/1 Work on the railway track, division of work, plan of closures)

- Track bed aggregate

- Construction of the railway top (assembly and laying of track fields and switches, installation of the rail grating in the axis)

- Transportation of aggregates

- Adjustment of the geometrical parameters of the track

- Rail welding

- Continuous machines for the restoration of the railway top

- Rehabilitation complexes for the restoration of the railway bed

- Construction and maintenance of tracks during operation (research activities, diagnostics of tracks, defects, reprofiling of rails and switches)

- Two-way vehicles, excavators and adapters

- Special railway vehicles (rail cranes, snow plows and cutters)

- Excursion to the railway construction

Syllabus of tutorials:

- Introduction to the exercise, presentation of the project (Dimensions report. Calculation of the parameters of the directional curves. Diagram of the directional ratios of the reconstructed section, including the drawing of the constructions of the railway base).

- Technological procedure during track renewal (cyclical, continuous).

- Detailed work procedure of individual machines. Compilation of technological procedure. Introduction to total and daily HMG track recovery. Checking the progress of the project.

- Schedule of track reconstruction details. Technical report. Control of the progress of the project (Partial term according to the assignment of the exercise). Mechanization deployment schedule.

Study Objective:

Adoption of conventional and modern construction practices in track construction and maintenance in terms of technology, regulations and documentation.
