Synopsis:

The methodology of measurement in the field. Methods of collecting scientific information. Structure of technical publications. Testing of basic static stationary and non-stationary properties of production machines and equipment in loaded and load-free conditions. Practical exercises of special methods of technical diagnostics. Application of modern measurement and diagnostic systems with link to the Industry 4.0.

Requirements:

Knowledge of basic courses of study at FME, ie. The knowledge of mechanics statics, dynamics, thermo mechanics, elasticity and strength of physics.

Syllabus of lectures:

Sensors and instrumentation basics

Measurement of static rigidity of machine tools

Precision of machine tools 1 (machine geometry)

Precision of machine tools 2 (positioning accuracy)

Circular interpolation

Thermal behavior of machine tools 1 (measurement of thermal behaviour)

Thermal behavior of machine tools 2 (compensation of thermal effects)

Syllabus of tutorials:

Sensors and instrumentation basics (measurement uncertainty, lab tour)

Measurement of static stiffness

Tests of machine geometry (Schlesinger, lathe)

Tests of machine geometry (Schlesinger, milling machine)

Positioning accuracy in lin. axes and diagonals

Accuracy of rotary axes (MT-Check)

Circular interpolation using the Ball Bar

Experimental set-up, data acquisition and data processing (Labview, Matlab)

Temperature and deformation measurement of machine during operation (calibration)

Compensation of thermo-mechanicla deformations (verification)

Influence of uncalibrated input parameters (modification)

Practical examples and best practises

Workpiece inspection, inprocess measurement

Study Objective:

The aim is to acquaint students with the methods of technical diagnostics of production machines so that they have the theoretical as well as practical experience with various methods.
