Synopsis:

Subject Economic theory covers two main parts economics - microeconomics and macroeconomics. The aim of the microeconomic part is to create a comprehensive theoretical basis, based on microeconomic principles. Listeners will use mathematical analysis and verbal expression to describe microeconomic principles. The goal of macroeconomic analysis is a comprehensive understanding of the laws of the national economy, the use of models, static and dynamic aspects of behavior and understanding of national economic aggregates signs of economic growth, employment, inflation, globalization, economic comparison of schools and integrative aspects of macroeconomics.

Requirements:

Active participation in seminars, successful elaboration of test preparation and presentation of a paper, defence a semestral work.

Microeconomics:

Theory of consumer behavior: utility theory, indifference curves, the equilibrium conditions, substitution and income effects, demand function, consumer surplus. Theory of enterprise: factors of production, the marginal product and diminishing returns, production functions, the optimal situation. Analysis of expenses: fixed and variable costs, total, average and marginal costs, profit maximization, supply functions. Market theory: perfect competition, monopolistic competition, oligopoly, market equilibrium.

Macroeconomics:

The formation of macroeconomics, national economic aggregates and their importance, the functioning of the national economy by classical theory, an integrated model of Keynesian theory, the formation of the national accounts system variants national accounting, macroeconomic dynamics, monetarist theory, so-called. Modern kvantitaty theory, the main schools contemporary macroeconomics, institucionalists, new classical economics, global economic management, economic policy, macroeconomic management tools.

Syllabus of tutorials:

Consumer theory - utility and its concept. Theory of a company - factors of production, marginal products and falling yields, production functions, the optimal situation. Demand function, supply function, market equilibrium. Cost models, revenue, profit, elasticity functions in microeconomics, production functions, models of market situations, national economic aggregates, measuring inflation, unemploynment.
