Synopsis:

Nowadays, large biomedical data are collected and stored in databases. Software analysis using data mining methods are used for prediction, searching new hypothesis and correlations.

1.Introduction to Data-mining

2.Data preparation, feature selection

3.Predictive models using decision trees and regression

4.Predictive models using neuronal networks and other modelling tools.

5.Model evaluation a implementation

6.Pattern recognition (cluster analysis, scoring code)

7.Biomedical data mining.

2.Introduction to biomedical databases

3.Data preparation, feature selection

Study Objective:

The aim of the lectures is to provide introduction to methods of data-mining and knowledge extraction. Methods of data-mining will be practiced on exercises using data mining tools in open biomedical databases.
