Synopsis:

The subject introduces the students to computational approaches of macromolecular crystallography.

Syllabus of lectures:

Practicals only.

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Phase problem solution - experimental phasing, molecular replacement.

2. Model building and structure refinement.

3. Structure validation procedures.

4. Databases.

Study Objective:

The goal of the study is practical experience with computational approaches in macromolecular crystallography: phase problem solution methods, structure refinement, structure validation. Final sessions are focused on work with structural and macromolecular databases.
