Synopsis:

The subject introduces the students to practical aspects of macromolecular crystallography.

Requirements:

11DMSB - Diffraction methods of Structural Biology

Syllabus of lectures:

Practicals only.

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Characterization of a macromolecular sample in solution.

2. Crystallization methods.

3. Hands-on experience with in-house X-ray diffractometer.

4. Diffraction data processing.

Study Objective:

The goal of the study is to gain the practical experience in crystallography: sample manipulation, crystallization, in-house data collection, diffraction data processing and evaluation.
