Synopsis:

Ion beam interaction with matter, physical phenomena in

and above tne surface, irradiated with ion beam.

Utilization of the phenomena in applications of ion beams

in various branches of science and practice.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

Interaction of ion beam with matter.

1. Electron and nuclear stopping power, channeling.

2. Radiation damage of matter, production of defects,

amorphization.

3. Ion sputtering, emission of secondary particles.

Ion beam applications:

4. Ion beam modifications of materials.

5. Ion beam analyses of surfaces and thin layers of

materials.

Syllabus of tutorials:
Study Objective:

To take knowledge of principles and physical processes

of ion interaction with matter and to obtain good idea of

ion beam applications i various branches of science and practice.
