Department of Dosimetry and Application of Ionizing Radiation
Synopsis:

Analysis of internal dose assessment issues and retrospective intake evaluation from in-vivo in-vitro data as well as calculation of doses from internal irradiation for radiation protection needs. The focus is on practical applications and solution of complex cases.

Requirements:

Knowledge: interaction of ionizing radiation, basics of dosimetry, detectors of ionizing radiation, radiation protection, basics of the MC method.

Syllabus of lectures:

1) Internal dosimetry and radiation protection (in vivo, in vitro)

2) Input data and their uncertainties, outliers

3) Biokinetic models I. (model of the respiratory and digestive tract)

4) Biokinetic models II. (systemic models)

5) Estimate the amount of reception from repeated or chronic exposure

6) Dosimetric models and calculation of dose quantities

7) Anthropomorphic models of the human body

8) Surface contamination

9) Optimized dose assessment procedure

10) Internal irradiation in medicine (pharmacy)

11) Direct determination of dose quantities

12) Determination of exposures during events of extensive discharges
