Synopsis:

The course focuses on basic training for working with GIS tools, especially ArcGIS from ESRI and its possible use in water management practice.

Students get acquainted with data formats (vector, raster, database, ..) and their use in analyzing problems and VH presentation of results in the form of maps. Content is also familiar with the possibilities of freely available data sources and the use of other ArcGIS extensions such as data preparation hydrodynamic mathematical modeling of water flow in open channels (HecGeoRAS).

Requirements:

no prerequisities

Syllabus of lectures:

During the semester (13h) contains the following topics:

1) introduction to GIS resources, data formats, ArcGIS environment and its modules,

2) The device works in ArcMap - project settings, adding layers of painting, rendering,

3) Work with vector data - preference, view, edit, attribute tables

4) Work with vector data - choice by location and attribute data export and

5) Preparation of graphical map outputs (Insert DataFrame, legend, scale, north arrows, etc ..)
