Synopsis:

Introduction to the indoor environmental quality, building ventilation and basic artificial lighting and electrical installation.

Requirements:

Submission of the work within the prescribed time and scope

Compulsory attendance in class, maximum 3 excused absences.

Continuous correction of work and checking during the course.

3. Basics design criteria, moist air, Molliers chart

4. Ventilation systems. Natural ventilation

5. Ventilation systems. Natural and hybrid ventilation.

6. Ventilation systems. Mechanical ventilation and air-conditioning

7. Mixing and displacement ventilation

8. Parts of air handling systems

9. Parts of air handling systems

10. Natural illumunation-physical principles, terms

11. Artificial illumination- physical principles, terms

12. Combined lighting

13. Electrical systems

1. Introduction, Indoor environment and Thermal comfort

2. Moist air processes. Mollier's chart, Calculation of air supply

3. Design of residential ventilation

4. Design of air-handling systems - basics, criteria. Mechanical ventilation. Heat recovery. Air conditioning systems.

5.Electricity distribution, Electrical installations

6. Artificial illumination- physical principles, terms. Combined lighting, Lamps and luminaires,

7. Calculation methods, design evaluation.

Study Objective:

The aim of the course is to provide information and expand knowledge in the areas of indoor environmental quality, building ventilation and basic natural and artificial lighting and electrical installation.
