Synopsis:

The Project Design 1 at the Department of Hydraulics and Hydrology is focused on the modeling of the water component of the environment or the hydrological analysis of a selected catchment.

Requirements:

Proficiency in English is preferred in option 1

Syllabus of lectures:

The course outline varies according to the selected track variant.

Option 1) Environmental modelling in water management:

Basic approaches for modelling the water component of the environment

Identification and conceptualisation of the environmental problem

Design of model structure

Selection of alternative modelling approaches

Critical evaluation of the applicability of the proposed model.

Fundamentals of the probabilistic approach to local and global risk modelling
