Gynaecology and Obstetrics

The course is conceived as mostly theoretical. The practical unit builds on the foundations of anatomy, physiology and pathology of female reproductive organs, in which the rescuer is to acquire knowledge and skills in caring for women focusing on all periods of her life. The course is divided into two parts. The first part is focused on gynecology and acquaints students with the differences of multidisciplinary care in primary, secondary and tertiary health care. Particular attention is given to sudden gynecological diseases.
The second part deals with pregnancy and subsequent confinement.
Partial Requirements: Active participation in seminars
Requirements on students: 3 page essay, presentation, and advocacy work.
- Syllabus of lectures:
Introduction to obstetrics and gynecology - Notes on the anatomy and physiology of the genitals, biological periods of life women.
Preventive gynecological examination (gynecological history, preventive examinations, screening, physical examination of physical status, laboratory tests, gynecological examination, basic diagnostic tests, tests / cytology - Pap Test /, breast examination, mammography, fertility, infertility.)
Special gynecological treatments and tests: cervical biopsy, conization, culdoscopy, Kolpa: hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, ultrasound, gynecological surgery.
Menarche, menopause, menstrual problems, dysmenorrhea, abnormal bleeding (amenorrhoea, menorrhagia, postmenopausal bleeding).
Sexually transmitted diseases - gonorrhea, syphilis, genital herpes, AIDS, vaginal infections and pruritus (vaginitis, yeast infections, Trichomoniasis, etc.).
Inflammatory diseases in gynecology and its complications.
Acute gynecological endometriosis.
Physiology and pathophysiology of pregnancy, diagnosis and preventive care for pregnant women.
Position of the fetus and birth mechanisms.
Normal birth, child, early, protracted, possible complications.
Bleeding during pregnancy - miscarriage, placenta praevia, placental abruption.
Ectopic pregnancy, preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome, embolism in pregnancy.
Care of the newborn and mother, newborn resuscitation.
- Syllabus of tutorials:
Nursing care of the woman with premenstrualnim syndrome and women with dysmenorrhea, abnormal gynecological bleeding, endometriosis, after curettage and hysterectomy.
Nursing care of women with inflammatory gynecological diseases.
Nursing care of the woman with cancer, vulva, vagina, cervix, endometrium, and radiotherapy.
Nursing care of women with developmental disabilities, abnormal position of the internal genital organs, uterine prolapse, stress urinary incontinence.
Nursing care in labor.
Nursing care in the second time of birth.
Nursing care in the third time of birth.
Nursing care in the fourth time of birth.
Investigation of the mother before and during childbirth.
Nursing care for newborn babies and puerperal PNP.
Nursing in the pathological process of newborns.
Self-management of labor.
- Study Objective:
The aim is to familiarize students with the problems of caring for patients in Gynecology and Obstetrics.
The first part focuses on gynecology, which familiarizes students with variations of multidisciplinary care in primary, secondary and tertiary health care. Particular attention is given to sudden gynecological diseases.
In the second part, students are familiarized with the issues of subsequent pregnancy and puerperium.
