Synopsis:

Course covers technologies of welding, brazing and thermal cutting. Description of joining methods, their principals, equipment and typical application in the industry is done. In focus are welding technologies (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, SAW), oxyacetylene cutting, plasma cutting. Covered is also topic of material weldability and assessment of joint quality by destructive and non-destructive methods.

4.Stress and deformations during welding

5.Oxyacetylene welding, manufacturing of gases used for welding

6.Electric arc, welding sources, MMA welding

7.Gas metal arc welding

8.Submerged arc welding, electroslag welding and cladding

9.Resistance welding - spot, seam, equipment, applications

10.Special welding methods - laser, plazma, electron beam

11.Soldering and brazing - characteristics, applications

12.Thermal cutting - oxyacetylene, plasma, laser cutting

13.Non-destructive testing of welds
