Synopsis:

Processing mock-up for casting, let us say mock-up of die tool models to the form of NC programme for CNC controlled milling machine. Usage of CAM system. Optimalization of tool paths with reference to cycle time and achieved quality of finished machined surface.

Requirements:

Knowledge of methods of cutting technology.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Adjustment of workpieces - digital mock-upof models. Transfer of digital data in CAD CAM. Adjustment of by transfer affected data.

2. „Boundaries“ setup for machined area defintion.

3. „Patterns“ setup for machining with finishing strategies.

4. Definition of coordinate system with focus on milling machine. Four axis rotary milling.

5. Definition of stock material and connections of coordinate systems of workpiece, stock material and machine.

6. Partprogram for rough milling operation compilation.

7. Partprogram for milling operation for finishing compilation.

8. Verification of CL data and judgment of quality of finished machined surface.

9. Optimalization of tool paths for finishing on specified surface qualities.

10. Generation of NC programme. Verification of NC programme and its adjustment.

11. Cutting on CNC milling cutter.

12. Cutting on CNC milling cutter.

13. Appreciation of presumed and real cutted finished machined surface.
