Synopsis:

Students are acquainted with imaging techniques in the examination of cerebral arteries, peripheral and central vascular bed, in the examination of the heart and in the examination of the venous system. They are furthermore acquainted with vascular as well as non-vascular interventional methods, with strategies of particular procedures and risks of intervention procedures. Basic information on angiographic and intervention instruments is presented.

Requirements:

100% participation in lectures,

demonstration of the knowledge mastered by a written test,

passing the examination by the method set.

Syllabus of lectures:

Lectures:

History of interventional radiology, digital subtraction angiography, principle of imaging, technical equipment, strategy of the intervention

Examination procedures, risks and complications of interventions, preparation for examination and treatment after the intervention, access ways for angiographic examinations

Instruments, stents, embolization material, radiation load

Procedures in the examination of cerebral vessels

Interventions on cerebral vessels

Procedures of the examination of particular parts of the aorta

Procedures in the examination of visceral arteries

Interventions on visceral vessels

Procedure of examination of arteries of the pelvic vascular bed and arteries of distal limbs

Interventions on arteries of the pelvic vascular bed and arteries of distal limbs

Procedure of examination of spinal arteries, intervention

Coronarography, invasive cardiology

Non-vascular intervention

Interventions performed in the CT
