Synopsis:

The student is acquainted with principles of problems of particular clinical disciplines, with most important features of diseases and possibilities of their treatment. Emphasize is put on diseases principally affecting the mortality in the Czech Republic and those, in which non-pharmacological prevention is possible and effective. The conclusion of the block is aimed at principles of the medical management.

Requirements:

credit:

achievement of at least 15 points in the written test

examination:

based on a test, achievement of at least 19 points of 30 attainable ones to the extent of the reference literature and themes presented at lectures.

Caution: intervals between repeated examinations must not be shorter than 7 days.

1st week - Introduction to neonatology and paediatrics

2nd week - Care for children

3rd week - Introduction to gynaecology

4th week - Introduction to obstetrics

5th week - Principles of physiotherapy and rehabilitation

6th week - Introduction to psychiatry

7th week - Introduction to psychology

8th week - Principal knowledge of dermatovenerology

9th week - Principles of ophthalmology

10th week - Introduction to otorhinolaryngology

11th week - Organization of Czech health services,

principal tasks

12th week - Management in medical institutions

13th week - Economy in medical institutions

Study Objective:

To master basic knowledge of the philosophy of medicine in the fields of neonatology, paediatrics, gynaecology, obstetrics, physiotherapy, dermatovenerology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, psychiatry, psychology and organization of work in medical institutions.
